Symptoms and Treatment

This page offers a VERY brief overview of some of the symptoms of, and treatment for,  a portosystemic shunt (liver shunt) in cats / kittens.

NOTE: The signs and symptoms of a liver shunt, or hepatic encephalopathy, can vary from cat to cat. Only you and your vet can best determine which ones your cat / kitten is showing.

Your vet will help you decide which treatment options are best for your cat.
